I'm wild about wikis and I make it a point to celebrate every day of my life. However, recently things seemed a bit incomplete.... Recently I had a little knee surgery. As you're signing all those papers where you legally acknowledge your understanding of the risks, a number of thoughts entered my mind. I've had a great life. I know the answer to life! I can say that I'm prepared should my Lord call me Home, but I also am definitely sure that I'm not ready to go. Even though the odds for complications were so small, I was a bit apprehensive. After all, a colleague of mine within the last 2 years had gone to the hospital for a simple surgical procedure but had not survived. I had never experienced any surgery and was also unsure what would happen. I began to think of the things that I wish that I had completed before that surgery. - I'd hate for someone to have to work through my closet. I left some clutter. - Regretfully, all my legal paperwork was incomplete just to name two items. Since completing my PhD, I had sorta been left without a major life goal. I've always had a short-term plan and a long-term plan, often with goals to complete at 5, 10, and 20 year timeframes. I had completed most of the items on that list or removed those that I have felt are not achievable. I realized that although I was not ready to go, I could not point to a list of items that I eagerly needed to achieve before kicking that bucket. Given that moment in my life and The Bucket List movie that was soon to open in a theater near my home, I've decided to work on that bucket list...that life list of items that I wish to experience and to achieve before it's my time to go. So, being the wikimaniac that I'm known to be, here's a wiki that we all can share. We can share our goals, our life list items. We can share the celebrations of our lives and be encouragers to each other. Join me in this life-long adventure! You can join me at my other web spots too:
I've used 4 other wiki hosting services and am delighted with Wetpaint! It's fun to use and allows you to easily add interesting, engaging content (e.g., video, images, polls). A dream come true for me! I was on the Wetpaint home page --- as a top dreamer, along with a link to this wiki, as Wetpaint celebrated Martin Luther King Jr Day. How exciting! Also I was picked as Super Painter of the month of May 2008! Please, join the community. It's easy. Your input and feedback are welcome. Join the fun!
