I had always pictured myself taking classes or lesson to be able to tick this one off the list but after living in Peru with Juan Carlos, who is a great dancer, I learned a bit of salsa, merengue, bachata etc. When we arrived back in Australia we joined a Peruvian Folklore Dance group which I loved. I love the culture, I love the music and costumes. We danced: festejo, valicha, kullawa, huaylas and negrillos. Love! |

Loved the opportunity and the challenges. Not exactly where I thought I'd end up moving but sure beats doing the UK thing! |

While visiting Cajamarca we visited a zoo (but very rustic) and while wandering around (probably somewhere I wasn't supposed to be) I found this shoddy enclosure with a huge black bear in it. He was able to stand up on 2 legs and come face-to-face with me. I fed him some of my biscuits that I had in my bag. And yes, I was scared he could rip my face off! |
